About The Position

- The MA/MS Therapist - Reg Intern at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing therapeutic services to clients under the supervision of a licensed therapist. This role involves delivering high-quality mental health care, assisting in the development of treatment plans, and supporting clients in achieving their therapeutic goals. The position is designed to offer practical experience and professional development for individuals pursuing licensure in the mental health field.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in behavioral health sciences, such as mental health counseling, social work, or psychology required.
  • Licensed or psychology degree from an accredited school required.
  • Must be eligible to be a registered intern seeking licensure with the State of Florida to be considered for the position and must apply to be a registered intern within 30 days of acceptance of the position.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with consumers with Substance Abuse/Behavioral Health needs.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in maintaining detailed and accurate client records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Ability to manage a caseload effectively and meet required documentation and reporting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Competency in utilizing technology and electronic health records for client management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations and client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to address clients' mental health needs.
  • Collaborate with licensed therapists to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress and treatment activities.
  • Participate in regular supervision meetings to discuss client cases and receive guidance.
  • Assist in crisis intervention and provide support during emergency situations.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in therapy.
  • Foster a supportive and empathetic environment for clients to facilitate healing and growth.
  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards in the delivery of mental health services.
