About The Position

The Medical Assistant position involves performing routine clinical and administrative duties under the supervision of medical staff to support patient care and office operations. The role requires a positive attitude, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. The Medical Assistant will work closely with medical staff to enhance patient care, assist with diagnostic procedures, and maintain medical supplies and equipment.

Requirements

  • Previous work experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Possession of an associate degree in Medical Assisting from an accredited school.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

  • Rooming patients and obtaining vital signs.
  • Reconciling medical records and tracking preventative care records.
  • Assisting with patient calls and collecting statistics.
  • Preparing patients for their visits with medical staff.
  • Assisting with basic diagnostic procedures and performing specimen collection as required.
  • Communicating observed changes in patient condition to medical staff and documenting patient care given.
  • Maintaining equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and readiness of examination and procedural areas.
  • Performing administrative or clerical duties such as filing, reception, scheduling, scribing, data entry, prior authorization, and patient registration.
