About The Position

The Medical Assistant at Williamson Health will provide essential clinical nursing support within the Neuro Clinic. This role involves direct patient interaction, including scheduling tests, obtaining clinical specimens, and performing various clinical office procedures. The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and support throughout their treatment process.

Requirements

• Medical Assistant certificate and/or higher degree.
• At least one year of experience in a medical office environment.
• Competence in using a Glucometer, BP cuff, thermometer, computer, stethoscope, audioscope, business phone, and various oral and injectable medications.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical nursing support by communicating clinical information to patients and businesses.
• Schedule tests and consultations for patients.
• Obtain clinical specimens as required.
• Assess patients and perform clinical office procedures.
• Maintain adequate clinical supplies and pharmaceuticals.
• Accurately record patient's medical history and vital signs.
• Administer immunizations and injections as appropriate.
• Counsel patients on health-related issues.
• Coordinate referrals to other medical services and secure consultations with specialists.
• Triage phone calls and address patient portal messages.
• Obtain prior authorization for medications and diagnostic testing.
• Assist physicians with medical and surgical procedures.
• Observe universal precautions and maintain quality assurance for office lab.
