About The Position

Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Medical Assistant, LPN, or EMT to join our Employee Health Services team! Position Summary: Provides care to team members in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, recognized professional standards and PNHS policy. Under EOHS RN supervision provides disability case management, general nursing care and health screening to team members. Assists EOHS in various health service programs all under EOHS RN supervision; coordinate pre-employment and annual health screening; administration of medications per protocol, including but not limited to, immunizations, immunoglobulin and over the counter medications; first aid treatment; coordination and consultation in determination of team member’s ability to return to work or continue work and performs evaluation of medical leaves of absence. Ensure delivery of occupational health and safety services to all Park Nicollet Health Services team members and facilitate services in accordance with department’s mission and goals maintaining compliance with community and regulatory standards or laws. On a rotating basis, this individual will provide Frontline coverage for EOHS. This includes, but is not limited to, answering incoming telephone calls, greeting all who come into the EOHS office, scheduling appointments, and support department clerical duties. Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) : Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing. Must maintain a current state license of practical nursing. One or more years of nursing experience is desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine). Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required and maintained. On-line BLS certification is not acceptable.
  • Medical Assistant (MA) : Graduate from a Medical Assisting program accredited by “The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). One or more years of experience desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine). Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required and maintained. On-line BLS certification is not acceptable.
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) : Graduate of an accredited EMT program and current MN EMT License. Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required and maintained. On-line BLS certification is not acceptable.

Nice To Haves

  • Accurate computer/keyboarding skills
  • Ability to promote and maintain good patient relations and patient confidentiality.
  • One or more years of nursing experience in Occupational Medicine or workers’ compensation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Human relations sensitivity and customer service skills
  • Listening and telephone etiquette skills
  • Medical terminology knowledge.
