About The Position
The extern will shadow the preceptor when performing the below tasks, with permission from the patient: Administrative Shadowing: Assist with patient flow Greet and escort patient throughout the facility with patient’s permission Perform clerical tasks such as answering phones, burning CD’s, proper disposal of HPI Restocking supplies Proper handling of medical equipment Clinical Shadowing: Practice Patient/Staff Experience initiatives Learn Quality Control documentation Taking Vital Signs Performing EKGs Height and weight measurements Performing/ observing point or care rapid testing Perform Urinalysis, urine culture, pregnancy testing Infection Control
Responsibilities
