About The Position

Mountain View Hospital is looking for a MA/CMA to join our team! JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting physician with patient care, clerical and clinical. Convey a positive image of the clinic. Collect, process routine testing, and returning results back to doctor. Provide good customer service on the phone, patients, doctors and other medical staff. Work well under pressure and prioritize. Perform CLIA waived moderate testing. Patient referrals, pulling charts, filing, cleaning/wrapping instruments, stocking rooms, reconcile labs, rooming patients taking vitals and history. Healthy connection referrals/eligibility, collection calls, prior authorizations, checking patients in/out at the front desk collecting pertinent information. Collecting and processing payments, scanning and discharging, answering phones, posting charges, some coding/billing, medical records, blood draws and giving injections.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid CMA certificate
• BLS required
• Basic computer and typing skills
• Ability to operate vital sign monitoring devices and manual BP equipment
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
• Must understand medical terminology
• General Math skills
• Ability to concentrate for long periods of time
• Ability to work well with others
• Must be able to handle conflict issues with both patients and staff

Nice To Haves

• CMA/Dermatology course
• Phlebotomy course and phlebotomy experience
• IV certification
• Bilingual

Responsibilities

• Clean and wrap instruments
• Stock rooms
• Reconcile labs
• Room patients, take vitals and history
• Handle Healthy Connection referrals/eligibility
• Make collection calls
• Obtain prior authorizations
• Check patients in/out at the front desk, collecting pertinent information
• Collect and process payments
• Scan and discharge patients
• Answer phones
• Post charges
• Perform some coding/billing tasks
• Manage medical records
• Perform blood draws and give injections
