About The Position

At Saint Alphonsus Health System, we are looking for people who are living out their calling. We want you to be passionate about coming to work, and challenged to achieve your potential. Living by these virtues, we pride ourselves on exceptional service and the highest quality of care. The Orthopedic Trauma clinic is looking for a passionate and personable Medical Assistant to work at our clinic located on our Boise Regional Medical Center campus. As an MA in the Orthopedics Trauma clinic, you will be supporting our Orthopedic Trauma surgeons, PAs, and APPs and work with other MAs and RNs. Please make sure you meet our minimum requirements before applying (see below). CNA and EMT certifications will not count towards an MA certification. Orthopedic trauma is a subspecialty within orthopedics that focuses on treating patients after trauma to the body which results in injury to the bones, tendons, muscles, or ligaments. Orthopedic Trauma surgeons are often called fracture specialists. While general orthopedic surgeons can manage a wide variety of fractures, there are patients that benefit from treatment by an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in traumatic injuries. Patients who experience trauma involving multiple broken bones, compound fractures (bone comes through the skin), fractures that were previously treated but have become infected or mal-aligned or fractures that never heal can benefit most from this type of specialized care. Our surgeons specialize in this unique area of orthopedics, work closely with our other specialists in foot and ankle, hand, spine, sports, or joint reconstruction, and sometimes will co-manage patients’ care with these other surgeons. They often work closely with our Saint Alphonsus Trauma team, which includes emergency medicine physicians and general surgery trauma specialists.
