Perform maintenance and repair work in support of quality standards encompassing a variety of skills in the different trades, including but not limited to carpentry, masonry, air conditioning and refrigeration, painting and wall covering, plumbing, electronics and electrical and mechanical work. Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the hotel's power plant including boilers, chillers, air compressors and related equipment to supply heat, air conditioning, steam water and related mechanical services in sufficient quantities to meet the hotel's needs. Visually inspect, operate, maintain and repair air conditioning equipment in the power plant and mechanical equipment rooms throughout the facility using knowledge of building mechanical systems such as water distribution, team supply, pressure reducing stations, chiller and boiler operation. Operate fans systems and maintain temperature controls. Read blueprints and technical manuals, disassemble and reassemble equipment associated with the air conditioning and refrigeration trade using various tools and equipment. Involves movement of heavy materials weighing up to 50 Ibs. or up to 200 Ibs with wheeled assistance. Work in confined spaces and awkward positions, requiring crouching, kneeling, stooping and reaching overhead for extended periods of time is required. Respond to customer/office requests by telephone, 2-way radio or in person, using clear, verbal English communication throughout the facility in the basic trades of carpentry, masonry, air conditioning and refrigeration, painting and wall covering, plumbing, electronics and electrical and mechanical work to make necessary repairs and/or to accommodate the customers/offices needs in a timely and courteous manner. Obtain work order from Property Operations office. Forecast manpower and/or supply needs, requesting necessary supplies/services from supervisor through written and/or verbal communication. Following completion of shit, complete shift log, describe work assigned and completed, logging unfinished job following established procedures. Inform supervisor of needed supplies and equipment and through written and verbal communication.
