About The Position

A M270A1 MLRS & HIMARS Launcher Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of the M270A1 Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) and High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) launchers. They perform inspections, troubleshoot issues, and conduct regular maintenance to ensure the launchers are in optimal working condition. The technician also assists in the assembly and disassembly of launcher systems, performs diagnostic tests, and keeps accurate records of maintenance activities. They play a crucial role in supporting artillery operations and ensuring the readiness of the launchers for deployment.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) and/or minimal of 5 years related experience
  • Experience working with U.S. Army combat a tactical equipment mandatory. Must be familiar with all echelons or U.S. Army maintenance to the 40-level. Must be able to use Technical Manuals and publications.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
  • Will be required to obtain a CAC card.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with M270A1 MLRS,and HIMARS Missile Launchers is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Examples of such problems include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes.
  • Work typically requires a detailed understanding of the interrelationships of circuits. Exercises independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow. Uses complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment. Work may be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices. May provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians.
