About The Position

Functionally directs the clean energy centers (CEC) mechanical and technical training programs (Chemistry, Engineering, Maintenance: Electrical, Instrumentation, and Mechanical, and Radiation Protection) and demonstrates mastery of skills and extensive subject matter knowledge in carrying out assignments associated with the development, implementation, evaluation, and modification of discipline related training programs. Acts as the CEC subject matter expert for their functional area.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED with 7 years of nuclear technical background or 9 years of related (applicable to the discipline instruction) experience OR
  • Associate's degree in technical discipline (e.g. chemistry, electrical, engineering, instrumentation, mathematics, mechanical, radiation protection), education or training with 5 years of nuclear technical background or 7 years of related (applicable to the discipline instruction) experience OR
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (e.g. chemistry, engineering, health physics, mathematics, physics), education or training 3 years of nuclear technical background or 5 years of related (applicable to the discipline instruction) experience
  • 3 years of nuclear training experience
  • The requirements as outlined above meet or exceed ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014 (4.4.3) Standard, "Selection, Qualification, and Training of Personnel for Nuclear Power Plants"
  • Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties

Responsibilities

  • Drives CEC and personnel performance improvement using training. Develops, schedules, coordinates, and conducts performance-based training programs as required by user community in accordance with Constellation's Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) model, department procedures, and with proper application of the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation phases.
  • Conducts counseling sessions for trainees, evaluates the results, and recommends/develops individualized training programs.
  • Assures the training programs are maintained current and incorporate information gained from Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) Significant Operating Experience Reports and Constellation Nuclear Event Reports (NERs), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Bulletins and Information Notices, CEC design change and backfit information, CEC procedure changes and revisions, new regulations, and training effectiveness reports.
  • Participates in NRC, INPO and management audits, and prepares responses to audit findings.
  • Supports CEC and fleet in the areas of business initiatives, project management, refuel outage support, emergency preparedness duties and special projects. Maintains knowledge of plant operations, disciplinary skills and techniques, commensurate with the responsibility to develop and conduct effective, high-quality training.
  • Coordinates the efforts of instructors in the development and conduct of training and provides expertise in the implementation of the systematic approach to training process by directing and counseling instructors and other staff as assigned by the manager.
  • Perform other job assignments and duties as directed by management or pursuant to company policy, including but not limited to emergency response, departmental coverage, call outs, and support of outage activities in positions outside the department.
