The M&S Event Mission Manager will support the mission of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Engineering Directorate Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Office to test the Missile Defense System (MDS) in a distributed Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) simulation environment, including MDS Ground Test (GT) events and MDS Flight Test support (pre-mission risk reduction, mission execution team training, and post-flight reconstruction), as well as M&S development and test support to other Department of Defense (DoD) Partners. As an M&S Event Mission Manager your duties will include the following, but are not limited to: Provide strategic planning and project management support for MDS test events, framework M&S, and element M&S risk reduction activities, including reporting to leadership on cost, schedule, performance, and risk. Serve as the primary liaison among M&S software developers, integration, analysis, test, infrastructure teams, MDA elements, MDS participants, and other stakeholders to consolidate capabilities and ensure requirements are met. Review and coordinate test plans, schedules, development timelines, integration points, and resource allocations (facilities, personnel, tools) to ensure event readiness and successful execution. Participate in planning meetings, working groups, peer reviews, and technical interchange meetings, presenting findings and maintaining management awareness of development and testing activities. Lead issue tracking and risk management efforts, including identifying risks, developing mitigation strategies, monitoring impacts, and communicating event status to stakeholders. Collaborate with systems engineering and cross-functional teams to define M&S engineering criteria and coordinate continuous developmental activities supporting risk reduction and mission objectives.
