About The Position

The mRNA - Associate Engineer Process Development (Drug Substance) - Vaccines position at Sanofi involves supporting the development of mRNA drug substances through experimental work, data analysis, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. The role focuses on applying Quality by Design (QbD) principles to enhance production processes and ensure robust drug substance development, contributing to the company's mission of delivering innovative vaccines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years' experience, or Master's degree with up to 3 years' experience in Biochemistry, engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in large molecule drug substance development.
  • Experience in biologics purification using chromatography is required.
  • Knowledge of mRNA characterization methods preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with downstream processes such as enzyme reactions, mixing, depth filtration, and tangential flow filtration.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform experiments in support of mRNA drug substance process development such as In vitro transcription (IVT) and purification.
  • Use QbD principles to develop and improve scale down models for mRNA GMP drug substance production.
  • Assist with designing experiments and analyzing results with supervisor and colleagues.
  • Maintain detailed records using an electronic laboratory notebook and perform data entry.
  • Help with raw material inventory, consumables, and buffer preparation.
  • Utilize established procedures, technologies, and methodologies in the lab.
  • Transform novel approaches into routine practice.
  • Assist with preparation of technical reports and presentations to communicate scientific findings.
  • Apply the 5S lean methodology in the laboratory environment.
