The M&L Team Support position on the 3rd shift in Battle Creek, MI, is crucial for ensuring that the production department has all necessary materials and equipment to operate efficiently. This role involves taking inventory of materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring their availability in line with production schedules. The individual in this position will initiate and support changeovers and provide relief to Associates on the production line as needed. Key responsibilities include verifying that proper work procedures are being followed, supplying all materials necessary for production using the Kanban system, and replacing Associates on the line when required. The position also entails performing changeovers and ensuring that workstations are equipped with the correct parts, work instructions, and supplies to meet daily production requirements. Monitoring line activity and production output is essential to ensure alignment with the daily plan, and any equipment issues, manpower concerns, or abnormal product conditions must be communicated to the Team Leader. Additionally, the role requires basic troubleshooting and repair of production equipment, as well as the fabrication of process support materials. The individual will act as a mentor, training new Associates on quality and production requirements and retraining current Associates on any process changes. Safety is a priority, and the individual must ensure that Associates operate safely and comply with all IATF-16949 requirements, performing layered process audits as necessary. Continuous improvement is encouraged, with participation in Kaizen and EF activities, and support for 5S conditions and required TPM activities. The position may also involve performing rework and additional duties as assigned.
