When you join the Caterpillar Oil & Gas and Marine Division (COGMD), you’re joining a global team that helps to power the global energy industry as well as provide power and propulsion on the water. We are currently seeking an M&A Project Integration Manager located in Houston, Texas or Fort Worth, Texas . The M&A Project Integration Manager is responsible for leading the post-acquisition integration efforts by developing and executing integration plans, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring milestones are achieved on time and within budget. Key duties include creating project timelines, identifying and resolving roadblocks, tracking progress against milestones, and communicating with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience desired.
  • Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
  • Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
  • Cross-Team Integration: Understanding of the importance of inter-team collaboration in breaking down silos and achieving business results; ability to lead employees from various functions to communicate, coordinate work across divisions, and collaborate in solving problems as one team.
  • Resource Management: Knowledge of the resources required to achieve business objectives; ability to plan, mobilize and distribute resources to fulfill business objectives and plans.
  • Conflict Management: Knowledge of managing conflicts; ability to anticipate, recognize, and deal effectively with existing or potential conflicts at the individual, group, or situation level.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree or PMP certification.
  • Prior M&A integration experience.
  • Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work independently, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical capabilities to assess integration performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Experience in leading and influencing teams, problem-solving, and managing change.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse groups.

  • High level of proficiency in project management software and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed integration plans with clear timelines, critical paths, and milestones.
  • Plan and lead integration team meetings.
  • Coordinate and manage activities across various workstreams (e.g., EHS, Product, Commercial, Finance, HR, IT, Operations etc.) to ensure alignment and timely execution.
  • Identify potential risks, development mitigation plans, and escalate issues to ensure the integration plan stays on schedule.
  • Track progress against the integration plan, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and make adjustments as needed.
  • Develop and document process flows for current (as-is) and future (to-be) processes.
  • Lead communication efforts, prepare weekly updates and status reports, and provide regular stakeholder updates.
  • Document integration lessons learned and refine the integration playbook to drive efficiencies and adopt best practices.
