About The Position

M&A Associate Prosperity Partners (“Prosperity”) is a Chicago-headquartered public accounting firm offering best-in-class tax, accounting, M&A advisory, and personal finance services to dynamic businesses, high net-worth individuals, and family offices. With offices throughout the United States, we are seeking an energetic finance professional to support our fast-growing business. The candidate must have a strong work ethic, superb accounting skills, budding leadership qualities and excellent communication and client service skills. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience across the M&A lifecycle, supporting clients through various stages of the transaction process. You will attend comprehensive training sessions focused on M&A, technical knowledge, and relationship-building skills, applying what you learn directly to your work. As a member of a collaborative team, you'll help drive client service projects to successful completion by meeting goals, timelines, and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include analyzing company financials to prepare them for due diligence, validating information for sales processes, and assessing target financials to contribute key insights to buy-side reports. You’ll also participate in broader financial consulting and advisory projects, working closely with clients to understand their needs and craft tailored solutions. Strong communication and the ability to provide upward feedback are essential, as is a commitment to executing high-quality deliverables on time. You'll be encouraged to continuously improve your work, contribute to enhancing firm operations and culture, and uphold Prosperity’s core values. We are accepting resumes consistent with the following background and ability: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; Up to 5 years of experience working in client service or industry, preferably at a Big 4 firm; Basic understanding of financial statements and financial accounting; Eagerness and desire for continuous learning and improvement; Flexibility and adaptability in work scheduling to help our clients and referral partners close deals; Strong organizational and time management skills; Detail-oriented and able to handle several tasks within deadlines; Excellent social, verbal, and written communication skills; Track-record of quality work and meeting deadlines; Ability to balance a keen attention to detail while understanding big picture goals; Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial formulas, etc.) preferred; Basic understanding of government contract accounting specific concepts (such as revenue recognition, indirect rates, etc.) preferred. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
  • Up to 5 years of experience working in client service or industry, preferably at a Big 4 firm
