We are seeking a Lymphedema Specialist Physical Therapist to join our team of highly passionate physical and occupational therapists with the goal of providing exceptional care to our wide variety of patients. Our therapists specialize in treating patients with orthopedic, neurological, vestibular and pelvic health diagnosis along with orthotic fabrication. We collaborate closely with other hospital departments and foster teamwork to deliver high-quality care to our patients. As part of Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, a nationally recognized academic and teaching hospital, our team benefits from a dynamic, innovative environment that supports professional growth, interdisciplinary collaboration, and evidence-based practice. We are currently in search for a dedicated therapist to add to our team. New grads and experienced therapists welcome.

Requirements

  • BS Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Active MA Physical Therapy license.
  • American Heart Association – Basic Life Support (BLS) certified.
  • Lymphedema Specialty certification required.
  • A minimum of two years as a licensed physical therapist with professional, clinical experience in a physical therapy setting.

Responsibilities

  • Examine patient using appropriate testing methods and instrumentation, appropriately records and interprets all findings, and identifies patient needs.
  • Formulate a detailed assessment based upon findings of the examination.
  • Develop treatment plan and patient outcomes, incorporating the input of the patient, their family and other health professionals.
  • Safely and effectively implement the treatment intervention.
  • Engage a high degree of patient motivation and cooperation in treatment.
  • Provide patient/family education during therapy and in preparation for discharge.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of the patient’s status and revise treatment intervention, goals & outcomes as appropriate.
  • Initiate discharge planning and incorporate patient/family input in the education process.
  • Consult with other allied health professionals as needed.
  • Document discharge summary per department policy.
  • Maintain all medical record documentation in accordance with the department policy and procedures.
  • Meet department standards for productivity.
  • Attend internal and external educational programs and read appropriate professional journals.
  • Develop and maintain physical therapy skills and knowledge per the Lahey Rehabilitation Services Career Ladder.
  • Assume charge responsibility in the absence of immediate supervisor.
  • Maintain strict adherence to the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center Confidentiality Policy.
