About The Position

The position involves strategic thinking and business acumen, client engagement and consulting, project and team leadership, learning experience design, professional development, and operational excellence. The role requires building trusting relationships with clients and stakeholders, analyzing new work to recommend innovative solutions, and collaborating with various teams to ensure project success. The individual will also be responsible for creating learner personas, developing solution recommendations, and maintaining accurate documentation while managing multiple priorities in a remote environment.

Requirements

  • Seven years of experience in commercial instructional design.
  • Minimum of two years of consulting experience.
  • Proficiency in consulting and creating learner-centric designs.
  • Adherence to adult learning principles.
  • Experience using production, collaboration, and authoring tools.
  • Ability to support a client-vendor environment.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and ability to learn independently.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Apply business, industry, and organizational trends to consultations.
  • Work with the sales team to scope new opportunities, noting level of effort, resource requirements, risks, and dependencies.
  • Build trusting relationships with clients, colleagues, and teams, proactively clarifying any misunderstandings or misalignments.
  • Lead conversations with high-level stakeholders, including needs and content analysis, and solution presentations.
  • Analyze new work to recommend performance-based, learner-centric, and innovative solutions that meet client goals within their constraints.
  • Educate clients on the training development process and why our partnership is important.
  • Evaluate a client’s readiness to begin work prior to resourcing and kicking off a new project.
  • Collaborate with experts from other areas, including Creative Media and Design, Technology, Innovation, Leadership, Pricing, Delivery Services, and others.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to document and strategically prepare for project risks and dependencies.
  • Onboard and lead design teams and provide long-term oversight on projects.
  • Create training, processes, templates, or other tools to onboard design team members to a project.
  • Create learner personas.
  • Create learner journeys and other visuals or stories to help clients understand your solution recommendations.
  • Develop and deliver solution recommendation presentations, providing evidence for your recommendation, as well as the pros and cons of alternatives.
  • Review deliverables to ensure alignment with the scope of work and quality expectations.
  • Demonstrate curiosity, synthesize, and apply current instructional design theory, best practices, and industry standards.
  • Contribute to the expertise and growth of your colleagues within the Consulting and Experience Design community of practice through feedback, training delivery, and coaching.
  • Grow your network of contacts across GP Strategies beyond the practice areas you work with most frequently.
  • Represent GP Strategies in public facing communications and events as needed.
  • Use appropriate tools and software effectively.
  • Maintain accurate documentation using the project’s file management conventions.
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities and projects, raising conflicts as needed.
  • Work, learn, and communicate effectively in a remote environment.
