About The Position

We are seeking an LVN who is passionate about making a difference in our community. At Lone Star Circle of Care (LSCC) we strive for exceptional, equitable patient care that leads to healthier communities. Our Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) perform duties under the direction of licensed medical personnel and/or Registered Nurses to assist in examination and treatment of patients. They collect data and perform focused nursing assessments of the health care status of individuals in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. They play a vital role in making our vision come to life! A Day in the Life of a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) may look like this: Obtain, evaluate, and record patient history in medical file Obtain and measure vital signs and record information on patients' charts Assist in the examination of patients under the direction of licensed medical staff and/or Registered Nurse May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis Prepare and administer medications according the five (5) rights of medication administration Perform routine diagnostic and laboratory tests Referrals – sending referrals, closing out referral when consultations are received in clinic Take incoming STAT calls from Quest and ARA, document, and send to provider. Complete data entry into the Electronic Health Records (EHR), state lab results, Hemoglobin and leads Research companies that offer the services (Speech Therapy/ Occupational Therapy/ Physical Therapy) that the physician has referred, that is in network with the patient’s insurance and request authorization All other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing school
  • Valid State of Texas Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Responsibilities
