The primary purpose of this position is to provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Such supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as directed by the Director of Nursing Services or Nurse Supervisor to ensure the highest degree of quality care at all times. Requirements

  • Current, active California LVN license in good standing.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of long-term care regulations and nursing practices.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively and compassionately with residents, families, and team members.

Nice To Haves

  • PCC (PointClickCare) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee nursing assistants to ensure quality resident care.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
  • Monitor residents’ conditions, record observations, and communicate changes to supervisors and physicians.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of care provided.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of resident care plans.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Support and participate in facility quality assurance and in-service training programs.
  • Provide compassionate, resident-centered care consistent with Oakwood Gardens’ commitment to excellence.
