Simonian Sports Medicine Clinic (SSMC) is seeking to hire a full-time LVN to provide nursing care for patients by following established standards, practices, and established competencies. This role will also provide technical training and guidance to MA and perform special projects for Physician. Requirements

  • California Licensed Vocational Nurse
  • CPR Certified
  • IV Therapy/blood withdrawal certification required
  • Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets human service periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations.
  • Computer proficiency
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Ability to calculate figures related to medication dosages
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work independently and accurately with minimal supervision
  • Highly organized and driven to meet deadlines
  • Provides quality patient care and is patient-focused

Nice To Haves

  • 2-3 years licensed vocational nurse experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Perform general nursing care to patients.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards and company policies.
  • Accesses central lines and peripheral blood draws
  • Prepare equipment and aid physicians/providers or registered nurse during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
  • Assist in ensuring that preferential scheduling times are given to patients in emergency situations.
  • Maintains timely flow of patients.
  • Greet patients and prepare them for physician examination.
  • Screen patients for appropriate information.
  • Complete patient history.
  • Respond to and refer incoming telephone calls.
  • Instruct patients and family regarding medications and treatment instruction.
  • Develop and perform patient education.
  • Complete and discuss pre-op procedures with patient.
  • Give injections.
  • Complete referral/Workers Compensation forms.
  • Provide on-call coverage for established patients.
  • Keep visco supplementation products stocked and maintain reconciliation of daily count, advise manager when low on par levels of stock.
  • Keep PRP kits stocked, maintain minimum stock of kits, brochures, waivers/consent and procedure forms.
  • Gives advice, patient education and instructions as directed by physicians/providers or registered nurse.
  • Assists physicians/providers or registered nurse in the routine back-office duties as necessary.
  • Administers medications in accordance with nursing standards.
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
  • Calls in prescriptions and refills of prescriptions as directed by physicians/providers.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and other materials.
  • Relay provider communications to patients by phone or mail.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested.
  • Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
  • Follow all LVN competencies.
