As a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Supervisor at Optum, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive appropriate care through the performance of moderately complex and specialized patient-oriented procedures under the supervision of a clinician or Registered Nurse (RN). Your responsibilities will extend to operational duties as required under the supervision of the site administrator or designee. This position is integral to the internal medicine department located in Monrovia, CA, where you will be part of a team dedicated to redefining health care with a focus on health equity, affordability, quality, and convenience. In this role, you will mentor and train teammates in collaboration with the Site Administrator, lead clinician, and people services department. You will function as a resource and liaison between administration, clinicians, staff, and other departments, supervising clinical operations within a designated patient care area. Your commitment to superior customer service will be essential, as you will consistently exhibit behavior and communication skills that reflect Optum's dedication to quality care and concern for every internal and external customer. You will assist the Site Administrator in ensuring compliance with licensing, certification, and competencies, participate in Nursing Leadership regional meetings, and engage in quality improvement projects for the site. Monthly staff meetings will be conducted to evaluate departmental needs and communicate operational updates. Additionally, you will be expected to cross-train to work in other departments as needed, assist with quality metrics, and maintain compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards. Your role will also involve responding to patient emergencies per Emergency Response Protocols and maintaining administrative records.
