About The Position

Come and join our LVN Residency Program! We invite graduate LVN’s to apply for this unique opportunity. The next cohort will begin on July 13, 2026. Integrated into a Hospital’s education structure, the Texas Health LVN Residency Program includes a guided clinical experience with an instructor-led core curriculum, a formal mentoring program, informative debriefing/self-care sessions and supportive 360-degree evaluations. Residents not only participate in the learning experience on their personally selected home units, but they also rotate/cross train through other departments to gain an expanded nursing experience vital to the complex patient care. The Texas Health LVN Program is a comprehensive, evidence based on-boarding program with a 15-month employment commitment that offers new LVN’s an exciting opportunity to gain the experience, judgment, skills, and confidence to successfully navigate the complexity of hospital life. Where you will be working: Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth - 1301 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104 Work environment: Med Surg Work hours: Upon completion of the Residency, anticipated hours will be full-time, (3)-12-hour shifts; rotating weekends, holidays, and on call shifts required Department Highlights: 28-Bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit. Ratio for RNs are anywhere from 3 to 5 patients. We take COPD, Diabetic complications, amputations, infections/wounds, Sepsis, Trachs, Chest tubes, fresh amputations/colostomy's/I&Ds and other similar surgical procedures, GI Bleeds, Failure to Thrive. One negative pressure room for TB and other airborne precautions. We do have LVNs on the unit as well. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program required.
  • Acceptance into THR residency program required.
  • LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse upon hire required.
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduated within the last 12 months preferred.
  • Less than one-year experience at the time the residency begins preferred.
  • Have not previously completed a THR nursing residency preferred.
