About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for overseeing the daily functions of nursing assistants and ensuring compliance with facility policies and procedures. This role involves administrative duties, charting and documentation, drug administration, personnel management, and direct nursing care. The LPN plays a critical role in maintaining quality assurance, coordinating nursing services, and ensuring the well-being of residents in a long-term care facility.

Requirements

• Must possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university or be a graduate of an approved LPN/LVN program.
• Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an LPN/LVN in this state.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of residents.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge and experience with PCC preferred.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of nursing assistants in accordance with current rules and regulations.
• Ensure compliance of nursing personnel with facility policies and procedures.
• Review and recommend revisions to department policies and procedure manuals.
• Plan shifts' services, programs, and activities with nursing staff and support personnel.
• Maintain the Nursing Service Procedures Manual and ensure compliance by nursing personnel.
• Participate in the development and implementation of the facility's quality assurance program.
• Assist in planning the nursing services portion of residents' discharge plans.
• Complete accident/incident reports and maintain the Daily Census Report.
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered by physicians, ensuring proper identification of residents.
• Participate in employee performance evaluations and staffing requirements.
• Ensure that nursing personnel follow established safety regulations and infection control procedures.
