The Nurse Supervisor assists in administering, directing and coordinating all activities of nursing services to ensure meeting the nursing needs of the residents. Schedule- Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited vocational school of nursing
  • A current Texas LVN license
  • At least two years of general nursing experience, including supervision and geriatric nursing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Make daily rounds to all nursing units, ensuring that all staff are present, supplies are stocked and readily available and the unit is running smoothly.
  • Visit and follow-up with families and elders reviewing clinical records, documenting and communicating as appropriate, being proactive with family communications.
  • Provide oversight for healthcare infection control, ensure staff are following proper policies and procedures, conduct infection control in-services for staff and answer questions.
  • Assure accurate and complete nursing documentation by regularly reviewing documentation in the EMR; following up with staff to complete documentation and provide education as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining the department in full compliance with Federal, State and local regulations.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
