The Nurse Manager role involves assisting the Director of Nursing Services in overseeing daily nursing operations and managing nursing service staff.

Requirements

  • Must hold a valid California Registered Nurse license in good standing.
  • Strong decision-making and communication skills.
  • Ability to interact tactfully with residents, families, staff, and external agencies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing school with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of supervisory experience in a nursing environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of PCC preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Nursing Services in overseeing daily nursing operations and managing nursing service staff.
  • Collaborate in creating, updating, and maintaining written policies and procedures that guide the nursing department.
  • Facilitate the resolution of issues related to resident/patient care, including concerns involving family interactions.
  • Ensure reference materials (e.g., PDRs, regulations) at nurses' stations are current and accurately reflect best practices.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the facility’s quality assurance program for nursing services.
  • Complete medical forms, evaluations, studies, and charting as necessary, while ensuring compliance with company policies and state regulations.
  • Conduct nursing assessments to determine residents' health status, develop plans of care, and implement nursing interventions.
  • Make rounds to monitor nursing staff performance and report findings to the Director.
  • Provide health education to residents and families, and assist in developing annual in-service training programs.
  • Participate in developing comprehensive care plans that address residents' needs, ensuring family involvement in care discussions.
