About The Position

The Novice Nurse Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse position at Maxim Healthcare Services is designed for new graduates with less than 12 months of experience. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current CPR certification
  • Proficiency in the English language
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Technological proficiency, including mobile devices for documentation
  • Successful completion of Maxim Homecare Novice Nurse Program orientation and training
  • 3.0 GPA preferred
  • PPD or chest X-ray if applicable

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient/client care and/or contracted services.
  • Demonstrates the provision of skilled nursing care in accordance with prescribed orders on each assignment.
  • Identifies and documents changes in patient's physiologic and psychosocial condition.
  • Notifies Director/Supervisor of necessary physician notifications and changes in patient/client condition.
  • Adheres to Maxim's policies and procedures and applicable protocols.
  • Identifies and prioritizes actions based on patient/client care requirements.
  • Assures patient safety at all times and recipient of services provided.
  • Verifies that documentation reflects patient/client collaboration and expected outcomes.
  • Performs interventions, treatments, and medication administration according to identified priorities and plan of care.
  • Monitors and documents effectiveness of interventions, treatments, and medications.
  • Evaluates patient/client and provides a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment.
  • Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment, including universal precautions.
  • Participates in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications.
  • Communicates observations and significant changes in patient/client status to the Director of Clinical Services or licensed designee.
  • Documents all physician collaboration/coordination of care in the medical record and communicates this information as needed.
  • Attends case conferences, team meetings, and education in-services as required.
