About The Position

The position involves planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for adult and pediatric patients. The nurse is responsible for fostering positive interactions with staff, physicians, patients, families, and other visitors. The role requires maintaining current knowledge of medications and administering them according to hospital policy, as well as demonstrating effective communication skills with all stakeholders involved in patient care.

Requirements

  • Current State of Texas License as a Vocational Nurse.
  • Participation in ongoing learning and plans to advance education preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for adult and pediatric patients.
  • Promote positive interactions with staff, physicians, patients, families, and visitors.
  • Maintain current knowledge of medications and administer them according to hospital policy.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Provide accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Ensure a safe environment for patients, families, and co-workers by adhering to infection control policies.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and participate in the orientation of new team members.
