About The Position
MEDICAL SURGICAL - LVN We are seeking a Medical Surgical LPN , sometimes referred to as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse . The Licensed Practical Nurse ( LPN ) plays an important role our hospital by providing hands-on care to patients recovering from surgery, managing chronic or acute illnesses, or undergoing diagnostic procedures. Working alongside RNs, physicians, and other healthcare team members to provide patient care our hospital's medical-surgical (Med-Surge) unit , LPNs focus on assisting with patient care and ensuring comfort and safety. Knapp serves as the only acute care hospital in the Mid-Valley area, as well as Weslaco's only Level III Trauma Center, Advanced Primary Stroke Center, and Level II Newborn Nursery. Knapp has been providing quality and compassionate healthcare to Mid-Valley residents for 60 years. More than 300 physicians serve on the hospital's medical staff. Knapp also serves as one of the largest employers in the Mid-Valley, employing more than 450 people.
Requirements
- Current and valid state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- IV certification upon hire.
Responsibilities
- The Licensed Vocational Nurse provides direct and indirect patient care services requiring technical and manual skills, within the scope of practice, that meet the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care, and meets the communication needs of the patient and family
- Performs under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
