About The Position

The LVN Manager, Department position performs supervision of quality of care given within the clinic setting. The position is responsible for maintaining the quality and adequacy of patient care; for coordinating training programs; for recognizing and assisting in solving professional administrative and supervisory problems in the assigned area. Effectively maintains operations by coordinating and enforcing program, operational and personnel policies and procedures. Assists with clinical audits as required by federal, state, local laws and FQHC programs. Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm | Location: SBC Clinic, San Bernardino, CA

Requirements

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an accredited LVN program.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current LVN License required; current CPR/BLS certification (must be American Heart Association or Red Cross accredited program), valid California driver's license, and auto insurance. As a requirement of this position, you must receive EPIC certification for the module you have been hired into.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of LVN experience required.
  • Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Must have proficient computer skills including data entry. Must be able to use a variety of office equipment including fax machine, scanner, printer and copier.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Fluency in English and Spanish preferred. The ability to translate medical information is preferred. Must possess the ability to maintain a professional attitude in difficult situations and communicate effectively. Must perform as a team player. Able to make difficult, strong decisions without outside influence.
  • Essential Mental Abilities: Requires critical thinking skills. Must be flexible to perform a variety of tasks. Must be well organized. Must be able to prioritize work using strong decision making skills.
  • Work Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Must not now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visas.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory role preferred.
  • Experience in an Ambulatory Care facility as an LVN preferred.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Fluency in English and Spanish preferred. The ability to translate medical information is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs patient-oriented procedures and tasks within the scope of their education and training.
  • Responsible for daily clinic assignment schedule based on call outs/time off/LOA requests and provides supervision for all assigned clinical staff.
  • Directly responsible for ordering and inventory of supplies and equipment needs for clinic in collaboration with Operations department. Identifies supply and equipment needs for capital planning.
  • Maintains patient confidence by monitoring and enforcing confidential information policies and guidelines.
  • Resolve patient needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies
  • Protects patients and staff by implementing, monitoring infection-control policies and protocols, enforcing medication administration, and storage procedures.
  • Responsible for oversight of clinical areas; exam rooms, lab areas, procedures room, etc. ensuring policy compliance, quality and infection control, and audit readiness for various programs, e.g. VFC, CHDP, etc.
  • Participates in meetings, committees per manager discretion. (Safety, EHR, HRSA, HIPPA and Compliance).
  • Maintains current knowledge of all documents that direct practice, e.g., policies, clinical guidelines, ancillary guidelines, etc.
  • Assist/prepares/participates in all SAC Health's clinical program and departmental audits.
  • Ensures workplace safety protocols are followed; investigates employee injuries and completes required paperwork and ensures proper policy and procedures are followed.
  • Responsible for monitoring department volumes and assists in collaboration with Medical Operations and Patient Access.
  • Provides coaching, mentoring, and training for new and existing staff members to ensure compliance and streamline/improve workflows.
  • Responsible for assessing training and education needs of all departmental staff; works with Clinical Nurse Educator and Regional Manager to develop plan of action to complete staff training.
  • Ensures accuracy and timely submission of employee timecards and attendance.
  • Assists in maintaining employee CPR certification and license requirements of all support staff.
  • Responsible for disciplinary actions, counseling, planning, monitoring, and appraising job performance.
  • Assist in improving processes and policies in support of departmental and organizational goals.
  • Maintains cooperative internal and external departmental relationships among healthcare teams by communicating information (i.e huddles, 1:1's, etc.); responding to requests, building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods (i.e. team building, task force meetings, etc.)
  • Meets with the nursing leadership team regularly to assure optimal productivity and support; resolve problems; and maintain lines of communication.
  • Participates in leadership learning opportunities such as workshops, etc. as offered on learning platform, SAC Health, community partners and as requested.
