About The Position

This position involves organizing and coordinating the overall workflow, including staffing and work assignments for Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN), assistants, and interns. The LVN Lead provides nursing care under the direct supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or physician, adhering to legal scope of practice and established standards of care, policies, and procedures. The role requires integrating education, technical competence, and patient interaction skills to build confidence and cooperation with patients, their families/support groups, and other healthcare providers. The individual will exercise sound judgment and clinical skills to implement patient care plans based on diagnoses in a timely manner. Additionally, the role supports department functionality by distributing supplies and performing equipment maintenance, testing, and setup. Adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures is crucial to ensure patient privacy and safety and deliver optimal care. The position may also include performing specific procedures and orienting new staff to the department. Employees may handle hazardous drugs in the course of their work, including patient care, which requires managing, storing, preparing, receiving, unpacking, transporting, disposing of, or administering drugs identified as hazardous or potentially hazardous by NIOSH and in accordance with USP 800 guidelines.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Vocational Nursing.
  • LVN-Licensed Vocational Nurse certification.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
  • DL-Valid Drivers License.
  • AUTO-Automobile Insurance.
  • 4 years recent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of nursing skills, various medical procedures, views, and equipment.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadline.
  • General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Prioritize and delegate assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve department objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.
  • Identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.
  • Build collaborate relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.
