About The Position
Administers immunizations, obtains medical histories, collects specimens, and provides education and counseling to clients.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited high school/GED program.
- Completion of an accredited vocational school of nursing program.
- Licensed in the State of Texas to practice vocational nursing.
- Must be able to perform specialized nursing skills.
- Must posses the ability to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods.
- Must possess reliable transportation to make field visits.
- Must posses the ability to lift and transport clinic related supplies.
Responsibilities
- Administers vaccines and other injections to children and adults in the clinic and/or home setting.
- Conducts patient education and counseling.
- Functions as preceptor for co-workers and students.
- Obtains medical histories and performs physical assessments.
- Performs other duties assigned.
