About The Position

Is responsible for, and performs those duties consistent with the recognized scope of practice for Licensed Vocational Nursing. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support the Organization's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of licensed vocational nursing.
• Licensed Vocational Nurse CA License required.
• Basic Life Support - CPR Certification through American Heart Association required.
• Knowledge of professional skills within scope of practice for licensed vocational nursing.
• Knowledge of appropriate organizational policies, regulations, and procedures to administer patient care.
• Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
• Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
• Skill in recording medical and other pertinent information provided by the patient.
• Skill in preparing and maintaining medical records.
• Skill in maintaining effective working relations with patients, clinical staff, and public.
• Ability to maintain quality control standards.
• Ability to adapt to change in procedures.
• Ability to work under stress in emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties consistent with the recognized scope of practice for Licensed Vocational Nursing.
• Demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values of the organization.
• Support the Organization's strategic plan and goals.
• Act as a preceptor for new LVNs hired into the clinic system.
• Maintain quality control standards.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with patients and staff.
• Train unlicensed nursing/medical assistants.
• React calmly and provide effective medical care in emergency situations.
