About The Position

The position involves assisting patients, staff, and physicians to maintain a high level of efficiency in operations and customer service while providing quality care to a designated patient population. The role requires floating to various Sharp Rees-Stealy clinics as needed, including Downtown, Sorrento Mesa, Rancho Bernardo, Santee, Otay, Scripps Ranch, and Del Mar.

Requirements

• California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - CA Board of Vocational Nursing & Psychiatric Technicians - REQUIRED
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association - REQUIRED

Nice To Haves

• 1 Year LVN experience in related clinical area
• Ambulatory care experience
• ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - American Heart Association - PREFERRED
• IV Certification (NPTA Sterile Product Certification) - Various-Employee provides certificate - PREFERRED

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical knowledge and skill in assigned area and within scope of practice.
• Performs/assists with all tests and procedures in assigned department.
• Administers medications safely and accurately per guidelines and written order.
• Prepares patients for examination or procedure and obtains consent for procedures/surgery.
• Accurately documents patient care per protocol.
• Partners with physicians to continuously learn and expand clinical knowledge base.
• Returns phone calls according to physician instruction and may schedule patient appointments.
• Uses universal precautions and demonstrates knowledge of infection control policies.
• Participates in clinical projects as directed by the physician or manager.
• Monitors patient flow and physician schedules to ensure quality and meet service standards.
• Completes department inventories and enters authorizations in a timely manner.
