About The Position

LVMPD internships are unpaid volunteer positions offered only to current college students, who must perform the internship in return for college credits toward graduation. Internships are generally performed on a part-time basis, for instance, 20 hours per week, within one semester. No free housing is offered, regardless of whether the successful candidate is an out-of-state student. The following LVMPD units have accepted interns in the past: Crime Scene Investigations, Cold Cases, Missing Persons, Victim Services Unit, Recruiting, Forensic Laboratory, Emergency Management, and Counter Terrorism. However, actual availability of internships in the different LVMPD sections varies by semester based on mentor availability.
