About The Position

At The Shade Store, we have handcrafted the finest Shades, Blinds, and Drapery for 75 years. We believe designing beautiful custom window treatments should be an effortless experience, so we offer outstanding services to help our customers every step of the way, from inspiration to installation. As a Luxury Design Sales Consultant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our tradition of exceptional customer service while contributing to the growth of a third-generation family-run company. This position combines your passion for home décor and luxury products with your sales skills in an inclusive team environment. You will have the autonomy and accountability of being an entrepreneur, while also being part of a supportive team that values flexibility and adaptability. In this role, you will be responsible for offering design wisdom and inspiration to customers, both in person and via video consultations. You will help customers select the perfect window treatments for their homes, speaking comfortably about the functional and stylistic benefits of our custom products. Managing customer projects and driving sales through consistent follow-up and effective use of our CRM system will be key components of your responsibilities. You will also co-manage the day-to-day operations of the showroom, identifying outreach opportunities and marketing to local interior designers, architects, and general contractors. Hosting and attending local design events with support from The Shade Store headquarters will further enhance your role as a brand ambassador. We are looking for someone who embodies a positive and friendly demeanor toward every customer and colleague, with strong communication skills and a keen interest in the design and luxury industry. Your ability to create an elevated client experience will be essential, along with demonstrated skills in project management. The position requires excellent PC computer skills, including frequent use of Outlook for email and calendar management, as well as Teams for video communication. Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce or NetSuite is preferred but not mandatory. We value self-starters who are quick learners and team players, with three to five years of experience in retail, design, sales, or customer service.
