About The Position

The Part-Time Lunch Aide assists in maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly environment during student lunch periods. This role involves supervising students in the cafeteria and/or on the playground, assisting with meal distribution, ensuring proper behavior, and promoting a positive, respectful atmosphere. Typically, this position is part-time during school lunch hours.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
Required: Bi-lingual (English and Spanish)
Required: Prior experience working with children.
Ability to supervise and manage groups of students in a positive, fair, and consistent manner.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Dependability, patience, and a caring attitude toward children.

Responsibilities

Supervise students in the cafeteria, playground, or designated lunch areas to ensure safety and appropriate behavior.
Assist younger students with opening food containers, using utensils, and cleaning up after meals.
Monitor food lines and help maintain an orderly flow of students.
Encourage good table manners, cooperation, and respectful interactions.
Respond calmly and effectively to student issues or conflicts; report serious concerns to appropriate staff.
Clean tables, chairs, and floors before and after lunch periods; dispose of trash properly.
Assist custodial staff with maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards.
Ensure compliance with school policies and safety procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
