Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• OSHA Certified Forklift License preferred.
• Knowledge of receiving/inventory control principles and practices.
• Understanding of dimension lumber, species of material, panel products, and other building materials.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Ability to read and interpret picking tickets and invoices.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate all equipment in the lumber yard.
• Maintain cleanliness of the yard and work area during operations.
• Perform daily safety audits of saws and other equipment, reporting any malfunctions to the Lead Sawyer.
• Utilize proper shutdown and maintenance procedures for equipment.
• Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times during work.
• Enforce the Lock Out Tag Out program for safety.
• Load the saw with lumber manually and with a forklift.
• Cut lumber to specified dimensions as per requirements.
• Maintain equipment, including removing and installing blades as needed.
• Sort material onto sorting tables and prepare packs by wall number effectively.
• Execute quality control for layouts and ensure proper printing on components.
• Safely prepare optimization loads for delivery.
