About The Position

About the Role & Program We are looking for a collaborative and creative team player who reflects the innovative spirit, creative talent, and passion for great storytelling and filmmaking that define Lucasfilm. The Franchise Archive Graduate Intern will be primarily responsible for supporting the Franchise Archive Teams, cataloging physical media, tracking scan priorities, and documenting projects for archival material. This team preserves, curates and modernizes the archival library, while commissioning new imagery to tell a visually compelling story, provide accurate reference and preserve a historical legacy. These assets are released in alignment with Lucasfilm’s overall strategy and creative vision. If selected, you will report to the Manager of Film Archives. What You Will Do While working with us, you will be primarily responsible for providing general support for the Film and Stills departments related to preservation and collection management. Cataloging physical media, tracking scan priorities, and documenting projects for archival material. This also includes:

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years experience with asset/database management
  • Strong proficiency in Google Suite
  • Competency working with hands on delicate hand-on tasks
  • Proven understanding of still and moving image cataloging and digital asset management systems
  • Basic knowledge of Live Action Film Production, as well as analog and digital moving image media handling and identification
  • Working knowledge of still and moving image cataloging and digital asset management systems
  • Comfort-level working for multiple hours in our chilly vaults, which are kept at 45-65 degrees F
  • Currently enrolled at the Graduate Level , pursuing or a Master's Degree in Library Science, Moving Image Preservation and Archiving TV/Film Production or Still Photography
  • Undergraduate Students will not be considered.
  • Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must have the ability to have a consistent, reliable full-time work schedule throughout the internship
  • The approximate dates of this internship are June 1st- August 28th, 2026.
  • Must provide own housing during the internship program in the San Francisco area
  • Must have Valid US Driver’s License and own vehicle to get to and from work. (The locations for the position are not conducive to public transportation.)
  • Must sign NDA and follow all security measures to protect company Intellectual Property and strategy

Nice To Haves

  • Proven ability working with digitization of historical, archival, and cultural content
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Photoshop

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting, inventorying, and cataloging of archival film, video and stills materials
  • General support for film and stills department activities related to preservation and collection management
  • Collecting research using in-house dataset and outside sources
  • Attending regular archive check-in meetings to remain coordinated with the Asset teams and provide updates
  • Rehousing of archival materials such 35mm slides and negatives
