About The Position

The Lubrication Technician is responsible for the lubrication, inspection, and minor maintenance of production machinery and mechanical systems within the plant. The role ensures all rotating and moving equipment operates efficiently and reliably by performing scheduled lubrication services, oil changes, and contamination control. The Lubrication Technician plays a key part in supporting preventive maintenance programs to reduce equipment downtime and extend machine life.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in food processing operations; strong understanding of industry practices is preferred.
  • Background in maintenance or a related technical field is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of food processing principles, equipment, and safety standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey information to team members and management.
  • Proficient basic math skills, including the ability to perform measurements and interpret numerical data.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with supervisors, peers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong multi-tasking capabilities with the ability to remain focused and productive in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime or flexible hours as business needs require.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to handle responsibilities and interactions in a mature, respectful manner.
  • Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Performs scheduled lubrication of production machinery, including bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, compressors, and hydraulic systems.
  • Inspects lubrication points and equipment for leaks, wear, or damage, and reports abnormalities to maintenance supervisors.
  • Conducts oil changes, grease applications, and filter replacements as per maintenance schedules and manufacturer specifications.
  • Collects oil samples for analysis and maintains oil condition records to support predictive maintenance activities.
  • Maintains and updates lubrication charts, schedules, and equipment maintenance logs.
  • Keeps lubrication tools, storage, and dispensing systems clean and organized to prevent contamination.
  • Supports Maintenance Technicians/Mechanics during planned shutdowns and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Adheres to all plant safety, environmental, and quality standards when handling lubricants and chemicals.
  • Assists in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize lubrication practices and reduce waste.
  • Ensures compliance with housekeeping standards within the maintenance area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by maintenance management.
