A criminal history background check and pre-employment drug screen will be conducted on the final candidate prior to beginning employment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards. Recommends lubrication, safety inspection, and other related services. Drains oil from crankcase and refills with required amount of oil. Replaces oil and air filters. Inspects vehicle fluid levels, replaces or replenishes as necessary. Checks tire pressure and add air if needed. Lubricates moving parts with specified lubricants. Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts. Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor. Documents all work performed on the repair order. Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs as assigned by service manager. Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins. Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle. Keeps shop area neat and clean. Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received. Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc. Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner. Reports any safety issues immediately to management. QualificationsWORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment can range from slow to fast paced. The work environment is indoor and outdoor and may include inclement weather. The work environment is a multi-tasking, front line customer service environment. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to extreme. Numerous chemicals are used on a frequent basis as a normal part of this job. In order to recognize and protect oneself from chemicals in the workplace, the employee will: Attend training in company's hazard communication program (worker's right to know). Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid driver's license. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stretch, kneel, stoop, crawl, climb, balance, twist, turn, handle, reach, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear.
