About The Position

Transwest Ford has an immediate opening for a Lube Technician at our location in Scottsbluff, NE. The Lube Technicians primary responsibility will be fluid checks and basic maintenance. WE OFFER A FULL BENEFITS PACKAGE FOR ELIGIBLE EMPLOYEES INCLUDING: Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Voluntary Wellness Solutions Life (Voluntary and Employer Paid) and Disability Insurance 401(K) with company match beginning with your first contribution HSA and/or FSA, as applicable PTO to include paid sick time as applicable by state and federal law and Company Paid Holidays Employee Car Discount Program ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Greet and interact with customers Change vehicle oil Check transmission fluid and other fluid levels Inspect various belts, filters, air levels, and gauges Rotate tires Write service reports and receipts for work completed Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins Perform all work with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards Diagnose and repair vehicle malfunctions Cross-collaborate with the parts department to obtain necessary parts Save and tag warranty parts Regularly communicate with the shop foreman and provide an educated recommendation if a repair order needs to be adjusted Accurately summarize repairs and technician stories Record accurate time punches Road test vehicles as needed for quality assessment Ensure customer vehicle cleanliness Maintain neat and orderly work area Treat dealership owned tools with respect and care Understand and uphold federal, state and local regulations governing the disposal of hazardous waste Perform job duties and functions with flexibility in the event of: shift changes, emergencies, changes in personnel, workload, rush jobs or technology developments Additional duties as assigned by the manager

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License and MVR in good standing
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing passenger automobiles
  • Motivated individual who can work independently
  • Familiarity with all aspects of gas and diesel truck repair and maintenance including engine repair, transmission repair, drivability and electrical diagnostics, suspension, brake systems, etc
  • Must possess a complete set of hand tools with rollaway toolbox
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to display attention to detail
  • Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment, pass a post-offer background check, physical and drug screen
