Lube Technician Classification Non-Exempt Job Summary The Lube Technician is responsible for various Bay Duties. They will move the vehicle in/out of the bay area safely. Technician performs visual inspection while draining oil, and replacing all relevant materials/parts. Essential Functions Assist in complete check of vehicle and/or equipment Ensure proper care is taken to prevent damage to customer’s vehicle and/or equipment Vacuum complete interior of the vehicle, and discard trash Thoroughly clean exterior windows Check, and communicate initial oil level Determine, communicate and physically verify correct oil filter application Check, and adjust all tire levels on vehicle to proper inflation level Check, communicate, fill necessary fluids and replace all caps Add oil, start vehicle, check oil pressure gauge and check oil dipstick Complete under vehicle inspection Remove oil drain plug, loosen/remove oil filter, wipe mounting plate and check filter spindle Inspect oil drain plug and gasket; replace if necessary Wipe fittings, and lubricate Check, and fill gearboxes Report under vehicle status to upper bay Observe undercarriage of vehicle to ensure no leaks Perform lower bay quality inspection Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred Previous experience in servicing equipment and/or vehicles preferred Valid driver’s license and personal automobile insurance required Travel Requirements Little to no travel required. Environmental Conditions Employee regularly works indoors around moving mechanical parts. May be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times. Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment. Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment. Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or high places.
