The Lube Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance services on vehicles, including oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, tire rotations, and basic inspections. This entry-level position is a critical first step in an automotive career path and requires attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license required; CDL Class A or B preferred.
  • Experience using diagnostic tools, software, and specialized equipment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair instructions preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with company policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair instructions preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect vehicle fluid levels and top off or replace as needed (engine oil, coolant, transmission, brake, windshield washer).
  • Replace air filters, cabin filters, and oil filters.
  • Conduct inspections of fleet vehicles for cleanliness, safety, organization, and branding. Prepare returned vehicles to be reissued.
  • Perform vehicle safety inspections and identify visible maintenance needs.
  • Assist with repairs to drive trains, steering, tires, brake systems, and suspension for fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Rotate tires and inspect tire wear patterns, check, and adjust tire pressure.
  • Parts pickup/ assist in inventory.
  • Assist in clerical/administrative duties as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of service bays and shop areas.
  • Properly dispose of used oil, filters, and other hazardous materials according to safety and environmental guidelines.
  • Record services completed and provide recommendations for additional maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding vehicle status.
