Through accurate tracking and scheduling, the Fleet Technician is responsible for proactive fleet maintenance and needed repairs for fleet vehicles. The Fleet Technician works with the operations team to maintain safe and reliable vehicles for staff and clients while reacting to service needs, conducting vehicle repairs in the field, while ensuring minimal service interruptions. This position is responsible for scheduling, tracking, and coordinating proactive fleet maintenance with our outsourced service providers. This work will include taking vehicles to shops, scheduling work with service providers, and ensuring we are working to meet our goals of keeping our fleet safe, DOT compliant reliable and on the road. Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age
1+ years of maintenance experience working with a variety of vehicles; experience with transit buses and motor coaches strongly preferred
1+ Years of changing fluids in vehicles and safety checking different vehicle systems
High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical school training preferred
Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
Current/Active DOT Medical Card
Must pass pre-employment DOT drug test
Able to communicate proficiently in English
Ability to be flexible in schedule to meet operational needs. This may require occasionally working outside of regularly scheduled hours
Must be willing to work in outside environments, which may include inclement weather

Responsibilities

Regularly inspect all vehicles for condition and operational safety; ensure maintenance of the highest level, including physical appearance.
Address immediate fleet concerns and maintain fleet service records: trouble-shoot/resolve issues to reduce the number of road calls and ensure a prominent level of safety within all operations.
Respond to and resolve immediate fleet concerns to minimize road calls and maintain a high level of operational safety.
Track daily vehicle reports, maintenance, parts used and repair records.
Inform Fleet Management/Admin of on-board shuttle technology such as Wi-Fi devices, telematics. systems and vehicle tablets to ensure the systems are functional and installed accordingly.
Collaborate with fleet vendors and the operation teams to anticipate service needs and optimize fleet readiness.
Complete all work orders as they are assigned as scheduled.
