About The Position

Heart of Florida Landfill, a Waste Connections site in Lake Panasoffkee, FL (Sumter County) has an immediate position open for a Lube Technician to perform preventative maintenance on our fleet of garbage trucks and heavy equipment machines. Individuals with 1+ years experience working on heavy diesel trucks or those that have completed a Diesel Technology program are encouraged to apply.

Monday through Friday 40 to 50 hours a week and some Saturday work.

Pay $21+ DOE

Requirements

• Preferably 1+ year experience in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair or completion of a diesel tech program or good attitude, willingness to learn, and strong work ethic is a preferred quality.
• Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair.
• Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information.

Responsibilities

• Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
• Performs maintenance related work as required.
• Performs inspections, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
• Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.
