About The Position

The Total Store Sanitation Specialist at H-E-B is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the store by performing sanitation tasks. This part-time role requires energetic and motivated individuals who are committed to providing superior customer service while ensuring a clean and safe environment for both customers and staff. The position involves working late evenings and overnight schedules, and offers the opportunity to become an owner in the company after eligibility.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of experience in maintenance or sanitation.
• Completion of Company Orientation, in-store orientation, Basics of Safety, Annual Food Handler, and basic HAZMAT/Chemical Safety certifications upon hire.
• Knowledge of OSHA Guidelines.
• Strong communication skills and time-management skills.
• Ability to prioritize competing tasks and attention to detail.
• Ability to work with a team mindset and under minimum supervision.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to learn to operate equipment from various Store departments at a basic level.
• Customer service-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

• Maintain department fixtures and equipment cleanliness.
• Perform total store sanitation tasks to ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Deep clean and disinfect processing areas and departments, including equipment, fixtures, coolers, floors, and drains.
• Maintain proper documentation and certification of chemical handling and sanitation verification functions.
• Properly use chemicals and cleaning tools according to H-E-B's chemical program.
• Apply basic knowledge of product handling and food preparation processes.
• Communicate maintenance needs, process improvements, problems, or solutions to Store Leaders.
• Assist customers in locating products and attending to their needs.
