About The Position

LTSA Principal Engineer / Project Manager – Combustion Turbine & Generators TSS - Technical Services – Mechanical Field Services WORK LOCATION, SCHEDULE, & TRAVEL This position will be based out of The Energy Center in Birmingham, AL Work schedule; Minimum (4) days in-office with one (1) day of telecommute currently allowed (subject to adjustment at management discretion). Telecommute work requires the ability to work successfully in a remote/virtual environment with access to high-speed internet services and functional cell phone service. This position will require some travel (day and overnight, up to ~25%) to support fleet sites, OEM engagements, and outage-related activities. Relocation assistance may be provided if the successful candidate does not currently live within a reasonable commuting distance. POSITION SUMMARY Experienced engineer responsible for providing technical and contractual expertise related to Long Term Service Agreements (LTSAs) supporting combustion turbine and generator assets across the fleet. This role requires strong professional judgment and accountability in evaluating OEM recommendations, interpreting contract provisions, and developing technically sound, decision enabling analyses that inform maintenance strategies, outage planning, and commercial positions. The LTSA Engineer serves as a key technical authority for CTG maintenance strategies, LTSA administration, and OEM service agreements, with responsibilities spanning contract development, contract interpretation, and scope evaluation, related to planned and unplanned maintenance activities. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education: Engineering degree strongly preferred; other disciplines considered with relevant CTG experience. Experience: Demonstrated experience with combustion turbine and generator maintenance, including planned inspections, outage execution, and evaluation of unplanned maintenance events. Strong understanding of CTG maintenance schedules, inspection intervals, and methodologies, including borescope inspections, combustor inspections, hot gas path inspections, major inspections, and generator inspections. Experience developing, administering, interpreting, or supporting Long Term Service Agreements (LTSAs) for CTG assets, including: Planned and unplanned maintenance provisions Covered parts definitions and exclusions Cost caps, risk allocation, and collateral damage concepts OEM service scope and performance obligations Experience supporting or participating in LTSA negotiations, amendments, or commercial discussions is preferred, but not required if accompanied by strong CTG technical expertise. Experience working directly with OEMs and service providers (e.g., GE, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or equivalent) in maintenance planning, outage execution, or contract administration. Ability to lead cross‑functional teams including engineering, legal, supply chain, finance, and plant operations. Fleet‑level SME experience supporting multiple units or sites is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong technical understanding of combustion turbine and generator systems, failure mechanisms, and maintenance best practices. Ability to translate technical maintenance requirements into contractual and commercial implications within LTSA frameworks. Working knowledge of risk allocation concepts related to planned maintenance, unplanned maintenance, discovery work, and collateral damage. Ability to apply professional judgment in evaluating OEM positions, maintenance scope, and LTSA interpretations, balancing technical risk, contract terms, and business impact. Demonstrated accountability for the quality, accuracy, and clarity of technical and contractual analyses provided to stakeholders. Ability to develop and communicate decision‑enabling recommendations to engineering, operations, legal, supply chain, and leadership teams. Proficient in MS Office applications; ability to review, interpret, and develop technical and contractual documentation.
