The LTS Instructor at Steinberg Memorial Ice Rink is responsible for teaching skating lessons to participants ranging from pre-beginner to advanced levels, following the guidelines set by the Ice Skating Institute (ISI). This role involves not only instructing lessons but also assisting in the testing and advancement of Learn to Skate participants. The instructor will play a crucial role in fostering a positive learning environment and ensuring that all participants receive quality instruction tailored to their skill levels. In addition to teaching, the instructor will actively recruit new skaters and lesson participants, utilizing effective customer service skills to manage interactions with customers. Clear communication is essential, as the instructor will need to relay information both verbally and in writing to supervisors and other staff members. Educating the public about safe ice activities is also a key responsibility, ensuring that all participants understand the importance of safety on the ice. The instructor will be tasked with accurately evaluating the placements of students for skating instruction, preparing and signing all necessary certificates and course record sheets, and enforcing rink policies and operating procedures. Maintaining a clean and safe environment for both guests and staff is paramount, and attendance at scheduled staff meetings is required. The role may also include other duties as assigned by management, making flexibility and adaptability important traits for the successful candidate.
