About The Position

LTS- Education Support Professional - Applied Behavioral Analyst (ABA) This assignment starts immediately through the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. Responsible To: The ABA Education Support Professional is directly responsible to the Building Principal and/or Associate/Assistant Principal and/or Administrator of Special Education and/or Assistant Director(s) of Special Education.

Requirements

  • Have obtained an associate (or higher) degree, or Have at least two years of post-secondary education that is equivalent to at least 48 credit hours from an accredited higher education institution, or Have met a rigorous standard on one of the formal Massachusetts-endorsed Assessments: Parapro or WorkKeys
  • Completion of Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training course required
  • Collaboration, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to operate computers, use Google Suite, and other required programs
  • Ability to exercise patience, tact and good judgment
  • Ability to identify sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to succeed in complex and changing environment
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community

Nice To Haves

  • Hold and Maintain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification preferred
  • Familiarity with Special Education/IEPs and 504 plans preferred
  • Experience with data collection/documentation preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage students with aggressive behaviors, apply behavior de-escalation and safety skills and implement Positive Behavior Support Plans as developed by the BCBA, Adjustment Counselor and/or Teacher
  • Facilitate small group instruction
  • Toileting/Diapering Students
  • Provide a variety of specialized learning techniques and/or applied behavioral activities pertaining to instruction individualized for student support/instruction
  • Monitor student progress and collect and document appropriate data regarding academic and/or behavioral information
  • Model appropriate tasks, skills and behaviors for students
  • Implement use of verbal and visual supports for students
  • Application of ABA principles and methodology throughout the day
  • Regular daily communication with the classroom teachers and/or special education liaison.
  • Perform a variety of specialized learning techniques, applied behavioral activities pertaining to instruction
  • Implement discrete trial instruction programs
  • Collect data and assist with graphing and analyzing data, such as incidental teaching, behavior chains, shaping, chaining, differential reinforcement in inclusion settings
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and BCBAs to monitor skill development, student progress and record appropriate data regarding academic and/or behavioral information
  • Participation in district provided job related training
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Building Principal(s) and/or Central Office Special Education Administration and/or Assistant Director(s)
