About The Position

Provides instruction in the curricular areas and behavioral skills to students in 6th through 8th grade during the teacher's absence

Requirements

• Appropriate State of Iowa Licensure including Substitute Authorization Certificate
• Initiative to be a self starter
• Intuitive to the needs of students
• Flexibility in assignment given
• Ability to use good judgment

Nice To Haves

• Experience in classroom teaching PreK 12th grade preferred.
• Band experience preferred

Responsibilities

• In the teacher's absence, follow the lesson plans provided to ensure programming associated with core curriculum and behavioral skills
• Follow behavior management plans for students
• Assists and collaborates with the administration, school counselor, staff, parents and students on matters pertaining to academic achievement and social/emotional/behavioral goals
• Maintains appropriate records and protects the confidentiality of data
• Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis
• Other duties as assigned
